Helps in Tissue Formation, Development & Maintenance of Bones and Teeth, Mainteance of Proper Muscle Function
Magnesium plays a role as a co-factor in 300+ biochemical reactions in the body; it is especially important in macronutrient metabolism, synthesis of neurotransmitters (brain chemical messengers), energy production and storage, cell growth etc. Hence it can be depleted easily when the body is under chronic mental and/ or physical stress. Therefore, magnesium supplement becomes very crucial in the maintenance of our health.
Prevalence of Magnesium Deficiency
Current RDA (Recommended Daily Allowance) recommends daily intake of at least 320mg (female) and 420mg (male). However, the mean intake for females and males in the U.S.A., according to the Department of Agriculture, is 228 and 323mg, respectively. In fact, more than 75% of North American population falls far short of the daily magnesium requirements.1
Most magnesium salts, such as magnesium oxide (MgO), carbonate and citrate, do not have ideal absorption rates. MgO in particular has only 4% of fractional absorption rate of magnesium.
When magnesium salt is not readily absorbed in the colon, it can draw water from the interstitial into the lumen resulting in diarrhea.
Bisglycino-magnesium is a rare chelate form of magnesium that is readily up-taken into the blood stream and able to participate in the vital reactions in the body. The reason for its better absorption is that Bisglycino-Mg is recognized by the body as a dipeptide and absorbed via a completely different pathway from that of a mineral salt (ie. passive diffusion, active transport).
Its absorption rate is more than twice of the minerals salts and not dependent to the pH in the stomach or food intake.
Adults - Take 1 capsule, 3 times per day, or as directed by your health care practitioner.
Some people may experience diarrhea.
